This week, my baby girl starts first grade. I packed her snacks, freshened up her locs with love, and whispered every prayer I know into her backpack. This business bears her name—but she is my why.
As a Black mama, sending your child into the world feels like baking a cake and hoping they rise in a space that doesn’t always recognize their magic. But I know this: she carries legacy. She carries joy. Her name means light, and baby, she walks in it with every step and every strand.
To celebrate her new chapter, I baked a Celebration Sprinkle Loaf—bright, colorful, and full of hope. A little sweetness to remind her (and me) that she is covered, she is capable, and she is never alone.
If you're sending your little one into a new grade or a new beginning, know this—we’re doing this together. We’re raising brilliance. We’re nurturing light. And we’re doing it one prayer, one affirmation, and one bite of love at a time.
