This time of year always invites a pause.
The air starts to cool, the sun clocks out a little earlier, and something in our spirit whispers: slow down, sis. At Zora’s Sweet Tooth, we believe baking is more than mixing ingredients—it’s a form of softness, a kind of self-care that lives in your hands, your heart, and your kitchen.
Self-Care Awareness Month isn’t about spa days or bubble baths (though we love those, too). It’s about asking, What restores me? What sweetness have I denied myself? And sometimes, the answer is as simple as a warm slice of something you made just for you.
This week, I baked our Brown Sugar Buttermilk Loaf just because I needed to feel grounded. The smell of vanilla and spice, the slow rhythm of whisking, the pause while it bakes—it’s church. It’s a return to self.
So if you’ve been moving fast, pouring out, or holding too much—let the sweetness in. Let softness find you.
Bake something. Light a candle. Sit in the stillness. You don’t have to earn your rest.
Call-to-Action:
Use this week’s affirmation:
“My softness is not weakness. It is sacred.”
